A Single Man
Well I'm really excited about seeing A Single Man this weekend. Tom Form (ex Gucci creative director) will be making his directorial debut so it will be interesting to see how his transition from fashion to movies goes.
Set in the 60s, the story revolves around a ageing gay professor played by Colin Firth. The movie also stars Julianne Moore, and has already won an accolade of awards - so I have big expectations.
If the story line fails me, the movie is likely to not disappoint with pretty cinematography and clean 60's fashions - I heard Nicholas Hault of About A Boy/Skins fame runs around in a bold choice baby pink mohair sweater. I wonder if this movie will influence current fashions, I've already seen some 60's streamlined fashions from the Spring/Summer 2010 lines at Bryant Park...

Bad Romance
So I randomly recieved a friend request on facebook the other day, and this person turned out to be a gem.
The next day photos of Romance Was Born's A/W 10 collection popped up and I had a look at the making of their short film for this collection.
The collection will be called "Nightmare on Wall Street". Loves it.

Double Take
Michael Kors, well known fashion designer, regular judge on Project Runway. Here are a couple of looks from his Spring 2010 collection:
Irina Shabayeva, winner of Project Runway Season 6 in 2009. Here are some our her designs through the season:
Copycat or pure coincidence?

The God's Must Be Crazy
Quite a few African references have been popping up in the last few months, and the latest (when I say "latest" it was 2 months ago, but I'm slow..) being news of ASOS creating their Spring/Summer 2010 collection using SOKO, a small production unit in Kenya. SOKO aims to create sustainable, fair employment and offer training and skills to some of Kenya's poorest people. Props to ASOS for taking that intiative!
Hearing news of that reminded me of some other great african inspired prints that popped up in spring 2010 and Fall 2010 collections at Bryant Park…

But look who did it a whole year before?

Hmm.. makes me want to burn all the black clothes in my wardrobe.

Chanel + Temporary Tattos = Love
Every now and then, Australian celebs skip past the Alex Perry dress choice and venture out into something unique. Lara Bingle did just that at the 2010 Allan Border medal... and she pulled it off.
In a Michelle Jank dress (woot for Aussie fashion!) she chose to accessorise with Chanel temporary tattoos from their Spring 2010 collection.
These tattoos are on sale for the general public, approx $80 a pop. Cheap for Chanel? Well apparently they don't last more than one day. I personally love them, all the bling without the weight of metal.

First Window
After almost a year of procrastination, I have decided to finally enter the world I praise so highly, the good ol’ blogosphere. Working in the dreary land of corporate can really suck the colour out of my day, so I have chosen to share my random interests to anyone who will read it :)
Plus this is another great way to avoid doing my day job…
Hope you enjoy!
